SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 28, 2002
Ensim(R) Corporation, the leading provider of hosting automation solutions, announced today the integration of its flagship management platform for hosting, ServerXchange(TM), with Compaq Computer Corporation's (NYSE:CPQ) automated system provisioning tool for industry-standard Compaq ProLiant servers. The new integrated management system, based on the new ProLiant Essentials Rapid Deployment Pack, allows data-center operators for the first time to rapidly deploy on a massive scale hundreds of application suites and services onto the new Compaq ProLiant BL e-Class server blades, in addition to ProLiant ML and DL Servers.
The extensive integration is the latest development in the joint sales, marketing and technology relationship formed in April 2001 between Ensim and Compaq. To offer its open, comprehensive operations and management solution for blade server architectures, Ensim has worked with Compaq to test and integrate its ServerXchange with Compaq ProLiant Essentials Rapid Deployment Pack, a new software option for automated system provisioning on ProLiant servers. Features and benefits of the latest collaboration include:
-- Efficient bulk loading and distribution of operating systems on new Compaq
ProLiant BL e-Class server blades.
-- Streamlined interface to simply manage an entire data center.
-- Rapid deployment of service plans for faster time to revenue.
"Our long-term relationship with Compaq is devoted to the innovation of data-center infrastructures for the ongoing rapid adoption to growth and change," said Sandip Gupta, vice president of business development at Ensim. "Today's announcement illustrates how the integrated solution from Ensim and Compaq contributes to the increased profitability and efficiency of hosting providers."
"Service Providers today are challenged to increase efficiencies in the data center by maximizing resources such as IT resources, space, and power consumption," said Mark Linesch, vice president service provider solutions, Internet and eCommerce Solutions, Compaq Industry Standard Server Group. "Solutions that specifically address ultra-dense server environment challenges from Compaq and Ensim, such as the ability to automate server deployment and systems provisioning, enable SP customers to address dynamic changes in server usage requirements for their customers, increasing efficiency, profitability and business agility through truly adaptive computing infrastructures."
Like the new Compaq Adaptive Infrastructure vision, ServerXchange provides solutions for hosting management that promote open, standards-based technologies, scalability, integration and automation. Together, Ensim and Compaq increase business agility. The benefits to hosting providers are reduced operational costs, increased profitability, rapid application deployment, conservation of IT resources and increased quality of service.
The new Ensim-Compaq management solution is capable of automatically deploying Ensim's Private Servers on ProLiant BL e-Class server blades. Private Servers create multiple virtual servers on a single physical blade or server. Because Private Servers are isolated in terms of performance, function, fault and address, each Private Server has all the features of a stand-alone server. Ensim's Private Servers profoundly increase the number of hosted services that can be supported in a data center for a dramatic improvement in ROI.
Ensim's ServerXchange is the industry's first open platform for hosting operations and management. It provides comprehensive capabilities to service providers that automate the deployment and management of hosted services and underlying infrastructures.
